Website Description : Zamindar Higher Secondary School, Kattuputhur, was founded in late nineteenth century by Chidambara Reddiar, Zamindar of Kattuputhur with the laudable cause of imparting education to the poor children of the Kattuputhur Mitta. The school started at Seelaipillaiyar puthur was shifted to Kattuputhur in 1903. By 1907 the Zamindar built new buildings and was upgraded as a High School. On his demise his wife Smt. Pappayi Ammal evinced keen interest in maintaining and improving the School till her elder son K.C.Saptharidhi Reddiar took over the management and ably ran the School till 1952. Then his two sons K.S.Prasanna Chidambaram and K.S.Krishnamurthy took over the management. In 1978, Dr.K.Prasanna Venkatachalam along with K.P.Ramasubramaiam took over the management of the school was upgraded on 03/07/1978 from High School to Higher Secondary School.
